Moving into a new residence often signifies new beginnings in our lives. Inviting God into this space and asking God's blessing on the home and family is a ritual of comfort and hope. Blessing of a home can take place with only the residents, or the blessing can be part of a house-warming or other celebration with family, neighbors, and friends. Blessing a home is not limited to a new residence. The blessing may be desirable after living in a home for many years as a sign of new beginnings.
